Péter Szántó, the CEO of our company had a chance to ask him about content marketing and the creation of tools like the Open Site Explorer after his speech at the Business of Software conference in Dublin. This part focuses on data and personalization. You can read the full interview which is more about the entrepreneurial journey on Péter’s personal site.
What do you think about using Facebook Login to get psychographic data that you can use for personalization?
Makes total sense. I think a lot of companies do that, but generally not with tools. They certainly do that and not just with Facebook they use Google Logins or LinkedIn. Some e-commerce shops use Amazon payment system, they can get the data that way too.
Do you think is it worth the effort of providing a personalized versions of content?
I think it depends who you are. It probably does makes sense for us to personalize the experience, if we could have some sort of indication that a visitor was more interested in content marketing and content strategy and we showed them the Moz content products, versus someone who came to us via Twitter and so Follower Wonk is the product we should show him.
